Houston culture meets Hot Wheels.
Rapper-activist Trae Tha Truth has announced his partnership with Hot Wheels on a limited-edition Houston-inspired toy car that will benefit charities.
The cars will be the first-ever SLAB (Slow. Loud. And. Banging) edition of the famous toy brand and will feature the iconic Houston swangas on 1964 Lincoln Continentals, complete with a fully custom hand-crafted paint job. The Houston skyline will be painted on the side above the classic candy paint and the cars will of course feature the chrome fifth wheel and grille, a pop-up trunk and a flying goddess up front.
According to the rapper, only three of the toy cars will be made, making it “a toy collector’s dream.”
“It’s even crazier for me to have my own H toy,” Trae wrote on instagram. “It’s one of my greatest accomplishments.”
The rapper said the toy would benefit his non-profit organization angel of nature, which aims to help empower young people in disadvantaged communities.
“Honored and grateful to play for our city,” he added to the caption announcing the partnership.
According to ABC News 13, all three toys will be auctioned during the Hot Wheels Legends Tour event taking place in Texas on Saturday, September 18.
