Rochester’s first toy library opens

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A new community space is opening in Rochester for families with young children.

It was the grand opening of Nana Gogo Toybary on Saturday. It is located in the old Hair Studio 52 on West Circle Drive.

It works like a regular library, but instead of borrowing books, families can borrow toys.

Families with children under five can purchase a monthly subscription to try multiple toys as often as they like. Non-members can also enter and play by purchasing a day pass.

On Saturday, families stopped to see the space and discover toys.

The Toybary was also joined by the Rochester Early Childhood Learning Center and some local children’s music teachers.

“We offer events for music lessons, DIY lessons, dance lessons, works. Enriching activities for children who are not yet at kindergarten level. But beyond that, we wanted it to be a space where parents could come in and form a community and find friends who are at a similar stage in life,” said owner and founder Pavs Kumar.

The pre-sale of Toybary subscriptions continues until the end of August. Each membership is an entry into a raffle to win a birthday party worth up to $350 for their child.
