Police are asking for help in identifying a woman who was captured on surveillance video stealing two children’s dune race car outside a Libertyville school.

The Libertyville Police Department said they were trying to help two 4-year-old residents recover their Fisher-Price Power Wheels Dune Racer.

The Dune Racer was left outside Butterfield School, 1441 Lake Street, around 3:40 p.m. on May 15 while the two children were playing in the school playground with their babysitter.

School surveillance video shows a woman pulling up in a blue 2018 or 2019 Volkswagen Jetta.

The woman walked over to the Dune Racer and carried it to her car where she made several unsuccessful attempts to load it into the Volkswagen.

She eventually managed to put the toy car in her trunk before driving away with the trunk open and the toy car sticking out of it.

The Libertyville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman so the police can return the Dune Racer to the two children.
