Monti Kids recalls Toy Boxes with Bins

A small peg may become exposed and detach from the toy box

Monti Kids of Orinda, California is recalling approximately 1,500 Monti Kids Toy Box with Bins products.

A small peg may become exposed and detach from the toy box, posing a choking hazard to young children.

The company has received five reports that the small stud was exposed after separating from the exterior cabinet. No injuries were reported.

This recall concerns the box with bins included in the Monti Kids Level 5 subscription box of the Monti Kids program. The box is made of wood and contains three bins in blue, red and yellow. The product measures approximately 13 x 5.5 x 5.5 inches.

This recall affects toys with lot numbers 0D41 and 1A41. The following text can be found on the bottom of the toy: “Montessori designs, Ethically Made in Vietnam, and ASTM CPSIA Safety Certified”.

The products were sold online at from July 2021 to February 2022, for approximately $35 (Box with Bins) and approximately $300 (Level 5 Monti Kids Subscription Box Toy Set), respectively.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled box and contact Monti Kids for instructions on receiving a $35 refund. The company contacts all known buyers directly.
